A 39-year-old man said gunfire outside his home at the Lindeen Park Apartments jolted him awake around 1 a.m. on Thursday, June 9. He stepped outside to find out what was going on and saw a group of men in a fight, Prince William County police said.
Someone in the melee noticed him, wheeled around, and fired a gun, police said. The man bolted and hid in a nearby building. The mob broke up and ran off soon after.
Police said they found several shell casings in the parking lot, and bullets struck at least two cars. No one was injured.
Police searched the area with K9 officers, but they didn't find anyone connected to the shooting,
